Once you are satisfied with the treatment of the water, you may want to aerate the water to assist in evaporation of the chlorine prior to consumption. This will also help the water to taste better. An easy way to do this is to pour the water back and forth between two containers a few times.
Research has shown that the colder the water, the less effective chemical treatments such as this are at purifying water. If you are in doubt as to if the water is at the optimal temperature, just allow the water to sit longer than the 30 minutes prior to consumption.
